The Lanai (before and after)

Slowly but surely things are starting to come together in our new home on Molokai.  Many friends have been asking for photos of our place so we will start a short series of “before and after” photos.  First up is our outdoor space, the lanai.

This photo is our ground floor lanai (which faces Maui and the actual Island of Lanai).  We decided on a hightop table and chairs to best enjoy the view of the ocean and the islands. We brought the blue pots with us from the mainland, and then added the tropical plants from the local nursery, Mahana Gardens. In January we are having a new tile floor installed inside the condo, and it will extend to the lanai.  So our “putting green” only has a couple more months of life left.

Of course you need to see the “before” photo as comparison. The indestructable white resin table and chairs were donated to a local church which was holding a rummage sale.

Finally, the view from our lanai, this time with Maui on the horizon. And we have actually had these two Plumeria bushes trimmed back so they are not quite this large now.
